Walleye are most numerous in large, windswept lakes of moderate to low clarity.  Walleyes prefer clean, hard bottom lakes and water temperature from 65 to 75 degrees F, making Fort Peck Lake a perfect fishing environment. Walleyes rank among the nation's most popular game fish. Many people fish for them just for the challenge, while others enjoy eating walleye fillets.
